My name is Ben DeBoer, but my family and close friends call me B.J. I’m 29 years old and recently moved back to my hometown of Seattle, WA from Nashville, TN. I married my amazing wife Amy in March 2007. A little less than four years later, we added an overflowing amount of joy into our lives when our son Caleb was born. When I’m not working as a CPA in my day job, I’m searching for my next item to flip on Ebay.
Four years ago, I found myself in a daunting position. After my wife endured months of sickness related to working nights, she resigned from her job as a RN. Concurrently, I was in the midst of transitioning into a new job. We were buried in student loans and credit card debt, and we were now down to one income – one income that would barely cover our monthly expenses and debt payments. On top of all of this, a few weeks later we found out we were expecting a child. As the provider of my family, I had feelings of hopelessness and despair as I looked out into the future and knew the road ahead of us was going to be long, hard, and painful. I had to do something. At the time, a friend of mine from church introduced me to Ebay, and the rest is history. This is where “A Tale of Resale” first began.
Four years later, here we stand with absolutely no student loan or credit card debt. We are finally in a place my conservative mind will allow me to call “stable.” I know there are many out there who can relate to our financial situation-those who have either lived it or are currently in the middle of it. Through this blog, I hope to be a resource to you as I share my insights and experiences with defeating debt by selling on Ebay. I have a passion for business and enjoy discussing my resale adventures with kindred spirits. When I launched into the world of resale, I was fortunate enough to have peers I could exchange ideas with and mentors who provided invaluable advice. Likewise, I hope this blog will be a source of knowledge and insights that will give you confidence as you venture out into the world of resale.
